CartoTool is developed by cartophiles. We built our first CartoTool in 2005, when the city of The Hague asked us to store 500 historical city maps. Being able to layer these maps and look through them in time was astonishing.
Now, 15 years later, our tool has developed into an instrument that can be used online by an infinite number of people at the same time, is linked to countless data sources and provides a platform for sharing your maps with anyone you want.
Members of the CartoTool Community exchange user experiences, share maps and find ways to further improve our beloved instrument. The CartoTool Library is their cathedral.
